The overall aim of the International Journal of Computer Games Technology is to bring together both the research and development aspects of games technology covering the whole range of entertainment computing and interactive digital media. The focus will be on three research and development frontiers: first, to expand the technology frontier in terms of both hardware and software for games, second, to validate innovative procedures including algorithms and architectures for games, and finally, to explore novel applications of games technology both for entertainment and serious games.

About the MacArthur Foundation:
The MacArthur Foundation launched its five-year, $50 million digital media and learning initiative in 2006 to help determine how digital technologies are changing the way young people learn, play, socialize, and participate in civic life. Answers are critical to developing educational and other social institutions that can meet the needs of this and future generations. The initiative is both marshaling what is already known about the field and seeding innovation for continued growth.

The Canadian Interactive Digital Software Association (CIDSA) was formed in May 1994 to provide a voice for the rapidly expanding interactive software industry. The association includes major Canadian video game manufacturers, software developers, distributors and retailers.

The mandate of the Canadian Interactive Digital Software Association is to gain public confidence and support through self-regulation, and by providing accurate information about interactive products.

The CIDSA promotes Canadian software development by lobbying for favourable tax and regulatory treatment; by providing information on video software guidelines set by the U.S.-based Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB); and by encouraging members to submit all new products for ESRB ratings.
